In light of the recent report into education in YOI, I have just seen teaching and learning, as good as I would expect to see in mainstream, in the Secure Home for young offenders I support. It can be done! Buzzing. @NPorter_ @ACLudlow

Earlier this month, members of my office visited HMYOI Werrington to hear from young people about their experiences of education. Young people shared the changes they'd implement in schools to improve children's lives, with many mentioning life skills. childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/blog/visit-to-…
I very rarely comment on the behaviour debate in schools on here. However got to love Tim Booth wading in!
We are delighted to announce that 7 of our students have received offers from either @Cambridge_Uni or @UniofOxford! Their hard work and dedication have paid off, and we can't wait to see where their academic journeys take them next. Read more: ow.ly/6CXC50QKFLb #OneRSFC
For anyone interested in inclusive practice.
With an optional special opportunity to visit @HaringeyLP the next day, this is one not to miss for anyone committed to thinking creatively about meeting the needs of all children and young people.
I talked on here what @tony4rochdale did for our school. This is part of a film we did about aspirations. As always - generous with his time. @FarahKhanRD thank you for this. @QadirPqadir62 what we've just been talking about.

Here's what I know about a thoroughly decent man. Whenever I asked he would come into school as their MP to meet with the kids. He always responded to the kids letters. He gave my pupils work experience. He always listened & encouraged.. He was generous with his time. A good man
I have been receiving treatment for some time for a form of blood cancer which has been controlled by chemotherapy. Unfortunately this has now transformed into an aggressive and untreatable form of leukaemia and I will be leaving hospital today. Read my statement in full👇

It's all well and good newspapers highlighting this - but what are they ACTUALLY doing about it? Waiting lists are so high, even with VCSE being commissioned to deliver. Perhaps policy should be shaped with children at the forefont @GMBeeWell @Paul_Lindley

I left education today after being the Headteacher of @Official_FPHS for 8 years. I've done 25 years in education. I've had the most beautiful week. It is a privilege to work with children, families and community partners. Now on to cause some good trouble.
I have, as a Head, always believed in community partnerships. There are so many partners schools can work with. @NigeriaCommuni4 is one who is close to my heart. The power of Mary and the team is phenomenal. Thank you for everything.
Today, as we celebrate Janice contributions and bid her farewell, let us also embrace the legacy she leaves behind. Let us honour her dedication by continuing to strive for excellence, by upholding the values she instilled in Rochdale Community. We Love You Janice Allen!
