My endlessly kind and caring uncle was killed in a fight for Ukraine’s freedom last weekend. His wounded brothers-in-arms carried him to safety for 5 kilometers under the rain and fire from the russian drones. R.I.P to my hero.
On this day 10 years ago, I was preparing to celebrate my birthday away from home for the first time. I felt homesick. My uncle went out of his way to bring me cake and flowers, driving 5h just to wish me a happy birthday. Today, he's headed to the frontlines to defend our home.
