Spending too much time with resistors at work? Consider this.

Loved the conversation! 🙌🏻

Reflecting on an incredible 1st half of the year on the speaking circuit. Grateful for amazing venues with amazing people. It's been a heck of a run... Recharging a bit over the next few weeks and then can't wait to get back out there!

A good leadership moment today doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. It can be reflecting a bit longer before you speak up. Shifting a conversation towards how we could instead of why we shouldn’t have to. It could even be starting a new conversation over an exhausting one.

In every one of my keynotes and talks, I am calling today's leaders to step up to what I'm talking about in this video. It is a true call to greatness and what your teams are wanting to see, hear and feel from you right now.

Expertise is MUCH DIFFERENT than opinions in the work place right now. A simple way to know which you are using: Are you offering input about why it won’t work? Usually opinions. Expertise is “how it COULD work” given the risk and challenges ahead that you are worried about.

What got you there, ⬇️ Won’t get you there. 📈 Even when things are going well, there is still room to evolve ourselves.

The stages seem to just keep getting bigger… Taking em’ one at a time.

Ever felt like your work day drags on and on? Does it feel like you are crawling through mud just to get things done? These can be signs you are living out your work day through ego and paying the energetic price for it. Here's a quick way to get back on track.

My favorite phrases for leaders right now: Given that… Although not ideal… Dang, that’s an unpreferred reality… Although not preferred… … what could we do to help? This models ‘stop judging, start helping’ as a team and focuses on HOW WE COULD.

Are you working in your 'low self' or 'high self' each day at work? One leads to a ton of helpless thinking and a TOUGH work day. The other leads to high resilience, joy and making a difference even in challenging circumstances. Choose wisely.

We've over-complicated leadership. Plain and simple. What if we took this approach instead of trying to 'fix our team' or 'solve all the problems' that come to us in our workday? Many find this approach much more peaceful (and much more doable).

Been on a good run of keynotes the last few weeks… Modern leaders don’t manage people anymore, we manage the energy of people. Manage energy, all day, away from “why we can’t and why we shouldn’t have to” towards “how we could”

These four questions, asked often, will change your entire work experience for the better: 🔸What do I know for sure? 🔸Given this situation, what could I do to help? 🔸What would great look like? 🔸What is the next thing I could do to add value? Any you’d add?

A mentor who changed my life gave me 1 leadership reminder and 1 leadership technique that has helped more than anything in my career. I share both in this clip and I hope they help you as much as they did me.

I find many people frustrated because they simply are not aligned with their organization. They’re constantly frustrated they weren’t consulted. They’re wanting to be a part of decisions they can’t decide. They focus more on why it won’t work than how it could.

Ever felt like you don't have enough resources or staff on your team? I'll never forget this call to greatness from a leader that changed my perspective forever. Something to think about...

I’m realizing so much of people asking for role clarity at work, might actually be resisting role ACCEPTANCE. In each situation, you may be the decision-maker, a consultant or simply to be informed. Many are mad they weren’t consulted or able to be the decision-maker.

Huge opportunity here for recapturing lost resources for CPAs and firm leaders. More on the 5 sources of drama and personal accountability if you’re interested: youtu.be/MIME7qjy5u0

Just say “yes” to something that scares you a bit. Trust yourself. Settle in and know you’re ready.
