There’s nothing quite like the people of Liverpool. Unbelievable effort from everyone who campaigned, donated their hard earned money and promoted for @ZoesPlaceLiv 30 days to raise 5million seemed quite impossible, but not for Liverpool. ❤️ #zoesplace

The royal family charges the Scilly Isles RNLI for lifeboats crossing "their" beaches when they are launched. So when lives are saved there, by a charity, the royal family gets money from it. Is there anything lower and more mercenary than that?

The most accurate, whilst motivating analysis of the Trump victory. Mass organising around policy that will make a material difference to the working-classes is the only option. Liberalism is dead.

All the takes are correct and yet they also miss the point. Yes, it was insane for the Democrats to think they could win by running a soulless candidate, without a shred of progressive policy vision, pursuing endorsements from neocon war-hawks everybody hates, while arming and…

The Royals make millions in profit each year, but this has always been shrouded in secrecy, until now. A joint @C4Dispatches and @thetimes investigation reveals that the King and Prince William are receiving public money through leasing property to public services like the NHS.

Politicians who don't want the ECHR to apply to them are exactly the kinds of politicians the ECHR is designed to protect us from.

It’s leave or remain. I’m for leave.

Yesterday’s #ProjectACL summit was a blast! A big up to the players for sharing their insights on how we collaborate to develop a more sustainable industry. A huge thanks to our project partners + @FIFPRO staff ❤️ + @SuzyWrack it was epic to talk ACL+football with you.

“ACL injuries are often labelled an epidemic, but #ProjectACL is about understanding their complex, multifactorial nature, from player workload to club conditions. It's time to shift the narrative from binary thinking to a holistic approach.” 🗣️ #FIFPRO's Dr @AlexCulvin

Boeing's outgoing CEO will receive a $45 million retirement package. The CEO before him received a $62 million golden parachute after 346 passengers died on his watch. If you're a CEO of a big corporation, it doesn't matter how much you fail. You will still walk away filthy rich.

My view is that if you choose to use the moments after a spate of anti-immigrant riots and racist pogroms to crackdown on migrants and asylum-seekers - then you are fuelling the fire that the far-right is burning.

Labour is announcing a "major surge" in immigration enforcement. They will aim to achieve in next 6 months the "highest rate of removals of those with no right to be here, including failed asylum-seekers, for five years". Will increase detention capacity to achieve it.

Shabna Begum writing in Tribune this week had a great line on what Hodge is attempting here: “The anger that has been directed towards Muslims, migrants and people of colour cannot be debated into legitimacy. The attempt to do so is itself another layer of complicity and racism.”

There’s something about calling out racism that upsets people. Watching @zarahsultana treatment this week reminds me of this. Politicians have a responsibility not to indulge in language that fuels hate. Politicians from all sides have failed. I fear we're seeing the results.
