Chilling in California. Really needed the Sun Shade to be able to sit outside in the bright sun this morning. airgear.store/collections/ou…

This technique also applies to Airstream cabinet latches, by the way.

This is why you need a torque wrench for your Airstream wheel lug nuts. Incorrect torque (tightness) + ordinary road vibrations = a wheel coming off during travel.

Time for new tires on the Airstream? Here are 7 things you need to keep in mind: airgear.store/blogs/airstrea…

This kitchen pull-out pantry always scraped the screws on the bathroom door. Not great design. But it was an easy fix to change the screws to rivets, which are flatter and look much better too.

Wondering where we were camping this weekend? Right here

The Thule Helium Pro 2 aluminum bike rack has also proved to be great boondocking gear. I love how easy it is to switch the rack from the hitch receiver we put on the Airstream, to the pickup truck. That made it easy to go out for gravel rides every day!

Another piece of gear that’s really working out well for this remote boondocking trip is our AIR GEAR portable solar panels. We’ve been here since Thursday & batteries are still above 80%.

We’re Airstream boondocking in southern AZ for a few days. It’s a great opportunity to try out some new off-grid gear, both big and small. Here’s the smallest item, from Uniflame in Japan: a camp toaster that works great! (You can find it on Amazon)

5 easy things to do for your Airstream this Fall: airgear.store/blogs/airstrea…

After searching for a good pet monitor (in the Airstream) it turned out the best solution was right in front of me. airgear.store/blogs/airstrea…

Indoor storage awon’t be enough. The problem isn’t just sun exposure, it’s also that the tires aren’t sufficiently able to cope with sitting still, and the tread wears too quickly.

What a difference a summer makes. These Goodyear Endurance tires on my Airstream are 4 years old and have only about 22,000 miles on them. (Date code 2219). That’s pretty lame performance by my standards, so this week they’ll be replaced by Michelin Defender LTX tires.

Towing a trailer can be dangerous with the wrong weight distribution. At least 60% of the load needs to be at the front of the trailer or you can lose control of your vehicle [read more: bit.ly/2DVKHlE] [video: buff.ly/2U1uNzL]
