At the "rescue house" near King's Lynn, the overmantle in the Oak Room has three carved heads on it. The panelling, everyone agrees, probably dates from the start of C17th — but what about the overmantle? We have had a variety of opinions, few of which coincide.

Update from Ireland. I have been to an Italian restaurant that offers mashed potatoes as a 'side'. I am flabbergasted. Is this normal?
I find myself in Ireland for a few weeks & disappointingly, after two weeks I am yet to see a moustache of note. Maybe they head for warmer climes in the damp Irish wintertime.
