I graduated from medical school today 👩🏼⚕️💙
Cool residency updates: we have a first, second, and third year having babies within three weeks of each other in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So thankful for these three little guys! And so proud of the program for handling three coinciding paternity leaves so well 😅
Imagine it: three women are doing inpatient rounds. A male provider they’ve never met comes up and assumes they’re all nurses and upon realizing they’re physicians asks if they feel like they aren’t real doctors because they’re in family medicine.
It is OKAY to tell patients and support people when they are operating and making decisions based on misinterpreted data, false readings, and poor logic.
I went to AAFP NC as a third year med student and instantly knew I’d wanna be super involved in recruiting for whichever residency program I matched to. We spent two years recruiting at a virtual booth and now I’m so excited to be back in Kansas City tomorrow!!!!
Imagine a house fire the week before you start residency. Please consider donating if you can! gofund.me/a086352b

I’m totally ignorant when it comes to taxes… when considering a sign-on bonus for loan repayment, what’s the most efficient strategy? Lump sum asap? Tax now or later? This is so confusing. I want to pay off my loans as soon as humanly possible.
I’ve done a couple interviews this week for some rural FM offices and I am just IN LOVE.

Still alive, just sleeping any second I’m not at work.
Today a patient asked me why I wasn’t wearing cat socks. I’ve become the doctor I want to be.
The battle between trying to everything I can for a patient in one visit so they don’t have to take off work for another visit and making sure I give quality care throughout multiple visits is so hard.
Bought this yarn to make July 4th newborn hats, but then burned out on crocheting… finished it all up and took them to the nursery tonight for the 9/11 babies
Allbirds… Tieks… Rothy’s… I’ve assembled the triad of flats for strong female physicians. Nobody can defeat me now.
I received an email today asking about my interest in building a palliative care program for our system… I…. Is this a dream come true? Is this real life?
Young doctors, someday, you will open your inbox or folder to a card from a family member. I can’t tell you what that card will hold. Keep it. It keeps you human. It makes you a better provider.
