The word violence seems to scare off some people when speaking about violence in sport, but the word highlights the severity, or at least how severe we should consider it to be. Verbal, physical or sexual violence....they all have consequences. And many of them can be lifelong

Just because violence in sport is normalised, doesn't mean it should be accepted. There are other ways to "fire up" athletes besides throwing things. Just because we grew up with that doesn't mean the next generation should. Let's keep striving for what we want sport to be.
Power dynamics of abuse are so tricky. They are always present &they are often only seen or noted by those at the lower end (disproportiantely women &always children). We don't always put the words power dynamic to the problem, or as our reason for staying silent, but it's there.
