Returning here to say: come work with me! Price Lab for Digital Humanities at Penn is hiring an associate director. It's research position: collaborate on existing/incoming DH projects, work on your own, mentor student RAs, teach workshops. wd1.myworkdaysite.com/en-US/recruiti…

Wrote this essay on Shakespeare in Turkey for this great collection. It’s finally out!

"Going forward, the University of Pennsylvania will refrain from institutional statements made in response to local and world events except for those which have direct and significant bearing on University functions." penntoday.upenn.edu/announcements/…

Simply cannot wait for this precious gem to be out!!!

This post is unavailable.

This sounds great:

I'm organizing a seminar on the Ottoman institution of slavery and world literature for ACLA 2025. Notions of "literature" and "literary" operate very loosely here, so all humanities and social sciences folks are welcome to join the conversation. Please help spread the word!

Oh Italia! Italy is beautiful; Italians loud and hot. And I love them all.

I'm so sorry to be missing the upcoming @RSAorg conference in March, where I was to deliver the @RSAorg/@SRSRenSoc keynote. Visa processing is a convoluted journey, and scholars from the global south will know the unpredictability and stress it introduces in all our commitments.

Writing “acknowledgements” is so much fun but also anxiety inducing, re: what if I forget some names? 😩 I take it seriously because “acknowledgments” is the first thing I read when I start a book.

Very excited to see our special issue on ‘Kurdish Queer Studies' out now! Huge thank you to all the contributors, and to @MarleneSchafers for shepherding this through to publication. We hope this sparks many productive conversations in the years to come. brill.com/view/journals/…
