A stranger on @FindaGrave is ignoring messages from me asking to have memorials transferred to me of relatives I know and miss. Got to love people who just collect memorials not caring about the grieving families. #findagrave

No. My grandad spelt both his daughters names wrong on their birth certs. My aunts first name is spelt differently on her birth, marriage and death cert.

Do you consider everything on a Birth Certificate as a ‘fact’? When is a fact a fact? See my latest #Blog How do we differentiate between 'Fact and Fiction'? buff.ly/3rcLhTo via @chiddickstree #Genealogy #BloggersTribe #Ancestors #FamilyTree

The genealogy community is one of the most amazing communities. My Nan was heartbroken by the still birth of her first baby. It never left her. Today someone helped me find where he’s buried. Nan never knew where her baby ended up but soon there’ll be a marker on his grave.

In the "nobody is surprised by this" category, an unrelated person has already started posting @FindAGrave memorials for the victims of the Highland Park shooting. (H/T to Randy Whited for alerting me on Facebook.)

Is there any better way to spend a Friday than watching genealogy talks? Looking forward to more talks this weekend with #TheGenealogyShow

I’ve just emailed @FindaGrave on this video only two of the memorials are of people not connected to the Uvalde School Shooting. Some being created within 24 hours of the shooting. FindAGrave need to remove these memorials immediately!

I thought I’d search local newspapers to see if anything mentioned my gt-grandfather as an ARP warden during WWII. Didn’t find that but found this newspaper about the above mentioned ancestor and his family!

Just found an obit for my 2xgreat grandmother. Found out so much about her from where she lived, religion, where she died, her family. Even her favourite hymn which the choir she performed in sung at her grave side!

For years I’ve had a copy of this photo and never knew who it was. Today I found out it was my great grandmother Rosie as a teenager. The picture taken in her back garden in Wales. The Welsh mountains and outhouse in the background.

One of the major drawbacks of online trees like Ancestry is poorly sourced information. The other major drawback: People replicating the bad data and spreading it far and wide! #genealogy #familyhistory #ancestry

Anyone else notice? I am waiting for the traditional pink and blue the way it's going.

If you feel you can assist here, with my @TheHiddenBranch ambassador hat on, please can you help to flag/report this unpleasant entry on The Urban Dictionary: bit.ly/THB3fujdHb to support our young genealogists #genealogy #ancestryhour

Let me introduce the #genealogy world to the idea of Mary Unknown. You'll all know her, even if you don't call her that. She's the woman whose name nobody bothered to record, because as a woman she wasn't important. #femaleancestry #womenshistory
