Feeling truly honoured to be featured on the Rust youtube channel 🥹! Here is the replay of a talk I gave last month about Rust and Serverless at @rustlinz in case you want to 👀

Okay you probably don't need Rust in Lambda anymore, sorry for the confusion everyone. Just javascript and LLRT:

I'm excited to see LLRT finally open for everyone to try!! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Lambda must either build a runtime optimized for their online scaling model, or they need support some type of multi-concurrency. github.com/awslabs/llrt

Maxime David Reposted

Let's go 🚀🚀 New llrt runtime has some pretty nice cold start performance. Will we see this as a managed runtime in Lambda??

Pretty impressive to see on par or slightly better performance than Go (of course with a much more limited feature set) Thanks for updating the benchmarks 😊

My pleasure! 😇

I opened an issue yesterday on @_maxday's Lambda Cold Starts benchmark repo yesterday to add the new Low Latency Runtime for JavaScript (LLRT)... He added it less than 24 hours later!

Do you like the animated code videos I’ve been posting these past few days? 🎞️ @_maxday and I created a tool so that you can create your own as easily as possible! 🤯 We’ll invite the first users in the coming days! Sign up if you’re interested 😉 👉 codebit.xyz

In all my new TypeScript projects, I now use ts-reset by @mattpocockuk Many helpful features, but there is one I like more than any others: it fixes the resulting type when using .filter(Boolean) on an array! 🤩

How to refactor code with @prisma when first checking if a record exists, then creating it if it doesn’t? Use the upsert function! It allows you to check for a record’s existence, and then create or update it accordingly 😉

🚨NEW VIDEO: Stop using Lambda layers! (with a few exceptions) There are lots of myths floating around about what layers can and can't do for you. This video clears up those myths and covers the real reasons why you (mostly) shouldn't use layers. Link below as is tradition ⤵️

Woot woot! lambda-perf tool has just reach 300🌟 on GitHub Thanks you so much for your support 🙏 github.com/maxday/lambda-… (I hope no one will unstar the repo and make this statement obsolete 😅)

Do you use process.env in your TypeScript application, cast values to String, and risk encountering undefined ones? 🤔 By using a Zod schema for your environment variables, you can have a properly-typed config object 😉 👉 codebit.xyz/cloip3wyn0001j…

How do you test println! in Rust? Defining a Trait and providing a different implementation might be a good idea! Here is how you could it! 👉 codebit.xyz/cloit5gac0001j… #rust #refactoring #unittest

Excited to announce that I'll be speaking about lambda-perf at @AWSreInvent! Hope to see you there! #aws #lambda #performance
