Arsenal had to do this for years after building the Emirates. We had to sell van Persie + Alexis to United. And City took Touré, Adebayor, Nasri, Sagna, and Clichy off us. No one cried for us then, and we didn’t have a nation-state sugar daddy to let us spend like Newcastle have.
Having no choice but to sell your best players to clubs you are trying to compete with. The same clubs who built their fortune in a world where there were no financial restrictions, already giving them a significant advantage. These anti-competitive PSR rules really are sucking…
