BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2024 #NobelPrize in Chemistry with one half to David Baker “for computational protein design” and the other half jointly to Demis Hassabis and John M. Jumper “for protein structure prediction.”

KR is widely used in academic & pharmaceutical industry. One could use L-protease to separate peptide epimers, instead of mirror-image L-protease, work from @lab_mueller showed D-protease is a powerful tool to separate protein epimers enabling stereoselective protein modification

A truly remarkable achievement!

Christopher Walsh: 1944-2023 A giant indeed: the impact of his work is staggering. But Chris was even more impressive as a mentor. He was immeasurably devoted to, & loved by, his trainees. Nothing made him happier than doling out his wisdom. Superhuman & human at the same time.
