This is the first time there has been zero net job growth in August since 1990. Very out of character. @cltomlinson @Florian_News887 @TomZizkaFox26

Houston-area employers added & subtracted equal number of jobs in August, meaning the region saw zero job growth to finish out the summer. @abc13houston @KHOU @KPRC2 @FOX26Houston @CW39Houston @TelemundoHou @noticiashouston @houpublicradio @WorkforceEcon

#March is typically a good month for #business and #professional services, but this was substantially above the long-term average @Florian_News887 @HPMNews887

Hiring in Professional & Business Services & Government accounted for more than 13,000 jobs in #February but nearly all sectors reported positive growth last month.

Historically, the #Houston area sees about 44,000 #Jobs lost in January, so this is not out of the ordinary. Important note: @BLS_gov introduces a statistical fix to account for population changes, further skewing the numbers.

Report is in line w/expectations, but downward revision likely in November #HurricaneHarvey @cltomlinson @PNJankowski @lmsixel
