How college enrollment by income at highly rejective colleges has evolved over the past century: --High income students dip after WWII but regain share starting in the 80s at the cost of middle-income students. --Low-income students remain a small share across the century.

Even if we "only" have fertility delay, it's a massive shift in social patterns. Parents doing child- and elder-care simultaneously, children not getting to know their grandparents (esp here in US where life expectancy has long stopped increasing).
The age at which women have children is rising in many countries, making fertility rates look lower than they are in terms of cohort fertility (how many children women born in a particular year eventually get). Same in Sweden. x.com/StefanFSchuber…
