Summerland: The Forgotten Disaster. The full documentary is available to watch now on @ITVX

Very sorry to learn of the death last week of Sean Keane, fiddle player with the Chieftains and one of Ireland's greatest musicians.

The 'Northern Nib' Barmy Ballads and Nativity book (available on Amazon) can make good Christmas gifts! Find out more about them on my website: northernnib.weebly.com

As a Summerland survivor, my thoughts are with those who lost loved ones or sustained life-changing injuries in that terrible tragedy forty-nine years ago tomorrow.

Who is Guy Gussman and what is a grifter? - Find out in one of the new pieces featured in my updated website, northernnib.weebly.com

This is Opal. Just when I thought I'd written enough poems about all sorts of cats, I meet one in Boston demanding her own barmy ballad! northernnib.weebly.com

The very idea of mocking the tragic death of Michaela McAreavey is beneath contempt. What is even remotely funny about her murder? This can't be excused through a mere apology.

Very sorry to learn of the death of Paddy Moloney, founder member of the Chieftains. His wonderful contribution to Irish traditional music will endure, and it was certainly a privilege to have heard him play in some of his many concerts. Thoughts are with his family.

This is my latest book of barmy ballads, fun to read and with a few ideas for enjoyable educational projects for young people from around school Year 6 upwards.
