One of my @WeAreJRNOLA alums just got hired by @telelouisiane Straight out of high school—her first job, and in French to bo͞ot! She credits JRNOLA for that? What? C'est poussiéreux ici… 😭

Ooof. The smiles on their faces… Samarah is certainly the best prose writer I’ve edited. And just won a NAACP writing award for a fiction she published through @WeAreJRNOLA Is “proud” the right word?

Hey followers. As many likes, RT’s etc on this would be a huge help as I’ve heard Lizzo is good at responding directly via her account? Trying to make this happen for my student. And it’s not unheard of for it to work (previous interviews: CJ McCollum, Carl Weathers, etc.)

Hey, @lizzo! You're great. Been trying to reach your people for a month about a month now, no avail. We're a nonprofit journalism program for BIPOC/LGBTQ+ high schoolers in New Orleans and we have a student Keziah who'd LOVE to interview you about @jazzfest for @The_Gambit—plz?

A group of journalism students I work with at @wearejrnola would love to interview @missjillscott and @lizzo during JazzFest, but I can't figure out who to contact. Any help?

We’re trying to land some big stars to talk with @WeAreJRNOLA students for Jazz Fest. First draft of questions from one of our youngest students ever is so good for so many reasons. But “Do you love music as much as you used to?” nearly cracked me in half… 🥺

We don’t dust off textbooks to talk journalistic ethics. Why not do something more recent? Excited to have @Jo_Livingstone—who organized a letter to @nytimes about their unethical trans rights coverage—join us on Weds. Journalists, after all, write the first draft of history.

Had an amazing class today about the @nytimes parents’ trans panic article (h/t @lindseyweber for the tip). Pretty confident that our students would make for a heckuva New York Times editorial board.

Lede (who we collaborate with from time to time) does such amazing, inspiring work. Definitely check out their showcase March 15-22.
