We congratulate Brett Dascombe on being announced as a recipient of the 2023 Commonwealth Bank Teaching Fellows Awards this week. Brett was one of 22 inspiring teachers to have been recognised for their dedication to creating positive change in their school communities.

Last week our Year 10 Debating team had a successful win against Padua College. In this round of the Queensland Debating Union - QDU competition our students were tasked with the negative perspective of the following topic: We regret true crime media. Well done Team Wavell!
Over the weekend we saw 2022 graduate and Player of the Year, Karl Oloapu make his NRL debut for the Canterbury Bulldogs. Shoutout to Dragon's Michael Molo (Wavell Warrior #876 graduating 2014) for reaching out to Karl to congratulate him on his debut following the Bulldogs win.
Today we welcomed Maddie & David from @EduChangemakers to work with our Learning Focus Group as we re-imagine the Wavell learning experience. A day of rich conversation, big ideas & a continued resolve to ensure Wavell graduates are ready to take on the ever-changing world.
