Watauga County Schools is in need of two EC Bus Monitors. One is for five days a week, 1.5 hours every morning to ride from Blowing Rock to WHS and back. The second is for a morning & afternoon route, five days per week from WHS to a student's home. If interested, apply ASAP!

It takes an awesome team of educators to run the EC Program. For Teacher Appreciation week, a shout out to our WCS EC Team! We have 4 School Psychs, 2 Behavior Specialists, 17 School administrators and 2 CO staff who help make it all work. Thanks for all you do for our students!


Today we shout out to EC staff who aren't "teachers" but who teach students everyday--Our EC Teacher Assistants. Thank you for all you do to teach, support, enable & encourage students to be successful! You are vitally important to our students! We couldn't do it without you!


Today we send out special thanks to our Related Services staff: Speech Language Pathologists, OT & PT Therapists and Assistants. You may not have the title of "teacher" but teach is exactly what you do. You are an integral part our student's education. Thank you for all you do!


Shout out to our Watauga County Schools Beginning EC Teachers! It is so rewarding to watch a new EC teacher grow in their skills, knowledge and dedication and to see them become teacher leaders in their school and our school district! Our early career EC teachers are our future!

Join us for EC Parent Night at Hardin Park School on Tuesday, December 7 from 5:30-7:00. Our topic is "Strategies for Improving Executive Functioning in Your Child". WCS SLPs Holly Klein & Megan Kilby will be presenting. Homework help, Child Care and Dinner will be provided.


This past Tuesday, 10/19,21,we had our first face to face EC Parent Night since February 2020! Maria Matarazzo (Left) and Brooke Chiarolanzio (Right) ASU School Social Worker Interns at Hardin Park School, did an excellent presentation on Adversity and Resilience.

It's been a great First Day of School for all of our Exceptional Children Programs in Watauga County Schools! A wonderful beginning for a wonderful year.


Our internet went down at work today. Felt kinda like 1994. I kept an eye out for Marty and the Delorean time machine to take me back to 2021.


Lighting It Up Blue for World Autism Awareness Day is the EC Self-contained Classroom teachers and staff. Thanks to all for all you do day in and day out to support for our students with Autism and to Celebrate Neurodiversity for all students.
