Dr. Padmanabhan Pattabiraman recently received a $2 million R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health for his project titled: Transcriptional control of lipid biogenesis in trabecular meshwork and intraocular pressure regulation. Congratulations! @LabPadhu
A proud day for the lab. @WTingWT Ting graduated with a PhD today. She will be heading to FDA for a fellowship from July. Extremely happy for her. Good luck to her for a successful future.
Our team did an exceptional job at the #ARVO2024 @ARVOinfo @AvinashSoundar1 Avinash, @WTingWT Ting, #RodaPasteurin, & @AnushaShivasha1 Anusha presented their work and good good feedback. Truly happy to be mentoring such a fabulous group.
Ting you were extraordinary in the lab. @SabanLab Danny, your talk was amazing. Ting imbibed a lot of work ethics from the training in your lab. She went on to do well in my lab. Good luck to you, Ting.
Ting! You are an inspiration. Many congrats to you and @LabPadhu !
Last ARVO during my PhD, and last time to present my SREBP story! Grateful for the incredible mentors I met in the US who guided me before and during my PhD @SabanLab @LabPadhu! ♥️Many congratulations to Dr.Saban for getting the prestigious Cogan Award, well deserved!🎉👍
Amazing women power in our department represented at #ARVO2024 WEAVR. @WTingWT @gabs_inthelab @IUOphthalmology
Ready for #ARVO2024! Four posters from the lab @AvinashSoundar1 Avinash on Tuesday. @WTingWT Ting, #RodaPasteurin, @AnushaShivasha1 Anusha on Wednesday. Anusha will be competing for the best poster award in the Member In Training category.
Shoutout to @WTingWT and @PatelHenika for being the next set of #WIN awardees from @NeurosciStark . Extra special cause May is AANHPI Heritage month, let's recognize these goal-setting AANHPI trainees. FYI they are Dr. Patel and Dr. Wang now!!! @IUMedSchool @IUMedResearch
Congrats to the Spring 2024 @NeurosciStark Women In Neuroscience Research & Career Award winners: Henika Patel (@PatelHenika) and Ting Wang (@WTingWT)!!

Finished my defense yesterday! Many thanks to my lab mates and my great PI @LabPadhu, all my committee members, collaborators, family, and friends! Thanks everyone for coming to my defense yesterday!
Big day for the lab. Grad student Ting Wang @WTingWT will be defending her thesis. Highly productive and smart PhD will be minted this day. Can't wait for her to impress the committee and the audience. Huge shout out to @LabBhattacharya @tritocool @Underhill_UIUC & Jing Liu.
Great news for the lab. Received our 2nd R01 to study the control of de novo lipogenesis on ocular pressure regulation. Thanks to my grad student Ting @WTingWT for the heavy lifting & postdoc Avinash @AvinashSoundar1 for pushing the science in the lab. Thanks @NatEyeInstitute
A new preprint from our lab identifies clusterin, a secretory chaperone protein, help maintain actin mediated contractility and cell adhesive interactions by balancing the levels of g-proteins, tensins, SMAD3, and STATs in the trabecular meshwork.

Hyperlipidemia = risk factor for ocular hypertension and glaucoma. Statins = shown to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) and glaucoma progression. Yet the direct role of cholesterol on the cells of the trabecular meshwork (tissue that aids in maintaining IOP) is unknown.

ICYMI: @NEIDirector, Michael Chiang, highlighted the work of Louis Pasquale, Jae Hee Kang & Oana Zeleznik about how patients w/ elevated triglycerides and diglycerides are more likely to develop #glaucoma. More: bit.ly/3N8RKfD #NEIfunded @IcahnMountSinai @BrighamWomens
🚀Thrilled to announce the publication of my main PhD project today! Huge gratitude to @LabPadhu, @AvinashSoundar1, and our incredible collaborators for their help and support.🙏faseb.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
Feel so lucky to join this great lab! ♥️ very supportive PI and nice lab members!
Four years up after I started my lab at Indiana University SOM @IUOphthalmology It has been a very enriching experience. Greatly indebted to my postdoc @AvinashSoundar1 and graduate student @WTingWT and many others who came to the lab during these four years.
So proud that @_BrightFocus could support these Travel Fellows to present their innovative research and network at #AOPT2023! Congratulations to all the travel awardees!!
