Always hilarious when I write about some Iowa political trend that's been 10-15 years in the making (and happening all over the US in areas w/similar demographics), and people say this result happened b/c of some very specific thing Iowa Ds did or didn't do last year. Not likely.

Biden pardoning his own son is a disastrous move politically. Now that he's done it, I'm worried the precedent it sets might finally push Trump to start showing contempt for established political norms and the rule of law

In 2004, Bush won the popular vote & Rs won a trifecta Ds were despondent & in soul searching mode Many spoke of need to nominate a southerner that could appeal to WWC voters & moderate Rs (e.g. Mark Warner) Then came Obama The right path forward is never obvious this far out

$480k fine on a multi-billion dollar company? That’s not accountability; that’s a rounding error. We’ve gotta do better apnews.com/article/louisi…

Jon Stewart urges Democrats to ditch the rule-following and take a page from the Republican playbook: start exploiting loopholes

Idk why we still pretend that there is any resistance to Trump in the party. We'll get some anonymous quotes from "high-level Republicans" talking about how bad the pick is and then when it's time to vote, Trump will get what he wants. Rinse and repeat.

Covered a fair number of cabinet noms over the years and can safely say reaction to Gaetz from Rs is next-level not-so-happy. Does that mean he fails? Who knows!

Dems are like, “we take institutions seriously so we’ll nominate Merrick Garland who will be meticulous and slow so no one will ever suspect him of political bias” and GOP is like “LOL MATT GAETZ AS AG”

Yo it’s wild when oil companies are like “bro your ideas are too bad for the Earth”

New: Oil giant ExxonMobil opposes President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to pull out of the Paris climate agreement, a company spokesperson told CNN in a statement.    “A second US exit from the Paris climate agreement will have profound implications for the United States’ efforts…

Need proof Trump's appeal isn't easily transferrable to other Republicans? Sen. Jacky Rosen (D) is on track to receive fewer votes in Nevada than Harris, but still won #NVSEN b/c at least 70k Trump voters didn't bother voting for Sam Brown (R).

Despite losing the presidential race in NC, Democrats won the following races: - Governor (+15) - Lt. Governor (+2) - Attorney Gen. (+3) - Sec. of State (+2) - Sup. of Public Instruction (+2) - NC-01 (+2) - Broke the GOP’s legislative supermajority @abreezeclayton’s got game

Hard to overstate just how rapid the changes in US party coalitions have been. The Democrats are now the party of high education *and* high income voters. Just 12 years ago, the inverse was true. On these terms, the Trump coalition was closer to Obama 2008 than the Harris one!

I’ve already seen a “Harris lost bc Biden gave up on COVID protections” take today … it’s rumspringa for terrible election theories, everybody have fun

College Gameday set up outside of the Capitol building for election coverage would be elite. Imagine Corso putting on a Trump or Kamala head at the end of the show.

Well, given that our last events of this campaign cycle were tonight, we said goodbye to our Democrat tracker. Wyatt, if that’s his real name, was always polite and good natured.

For what it's worth, but I’ve found @admcrlsn's polling analysis throughout the cycle to be really transparent and well thought-out. Definitely worth a follow ahead of E-Day for anyone unsure about who to trust as results begin to come in

I wouldn’t describe myself as someone who’s particularly good at predictions but here we go: MI: 🔵 Harris +3 PA: 🔵 Harris +2 WI: 🔵 Harris +1 AZ: 🔵 Harris +1 GA: 🔵 Harris +<1 NV: 🔴 Trump +1 NC: 🔴 Trump +2 I’m sure everyone on here will be very kind when this is very wrong
