Just follow up on this speaking with Caroline Ouellette this weekend she belonging to a team to a city is really really important that is what made CWHL so good. Clarkson cup, we had cities that we cared for and played in. there was rivalries and the fans followed them.
This would be so unbelievably dumb and bad for a startup league. Think about the instant identity a name and logo gives to a fan base. I guess make every mascot a refrigerator box with the words “Coming Soon!” written in Sharpie on it. Kids will love taking photos with them.

The IIHF should be prepared to explain why there wasn’t a back up plan AND why didnt they discuss relocation as soon as Canada started struggling and placing more restrictions in order to avoid this situation. Devastating for all the players. Womens hockey players deserve better.
