There are 3 junior @VoGAFL games at the Butts this morning all officiated by young Match Officials (2 of them female) . They are doing an excellent job & all in control. I agreed 100% with Morgan's call for a penalty in her game. The pitch markings are excellent @VOGCouncil
A Turkish court sentenced former Ankaragucu president Faruk Koca to more than three and a half years in prison on Monday for punching a referee on the pitch at the end of a league game last season.
Our November meeting was well attended. Terry gave an interesting presentation on Handball and Offside. Members also raised some recent Match Incidents for discussion. It is fantastic that we have regular attendance this season from young referees. 👏⚽
Alfie, who is a pupil at @LlantwitMajorSc, is another young referee showing lots of energy and desire to learn and improve. We are very excited at the amount of young referees we currently have in the @VoGAFL area.

One of our young referees, Callum, who officiates junior games, is a very useful goalkeeper as this penalty save this afternoon demonstrates.
Evan, who is a 6th Form pupil at Stanwell School, is making excellent progress as a referee. He had 2 excellent games at Sully this morning and he is very keen to learn & improve as demonstrated by his regular attendance at Society meetings. He is calm, collected & unassuming.

Ben is 16 and is making excellent progress. This season not only has he continued to officiate @VoGAFL Junior games but he has also been in the middle of a couple of senior games that have been appropriate for this stage of his referee journey. Well done Ben 👏⚽
Graham is one of the newer referees. In 1 incident, the GK fouled (not reckless) an attacking player in the penalty area who had got to the ball 1st. Graham waited to see the ball cross the goal line meaning no penalty kick or caution was required. It often pays to wait. 👏
There were 4 senior @VoGAFL games on at the Butts Field this afternoon benefitting from 2 very experienced & 2 relatively new ones. All 4 did an excellent job on 4 very good games. We were thrilled to welcome Amin Said from @CardiffReferees who played top advantages.
Just a gentle reminder for clubs that it is now law for captains of clubs to be wearing an armband as per law 3.10. There are still teams not adhering to this. @SouthWalesFA
Fe gafodd Morgan (disgybl bl 11 @YGBroMorgannwg) ei gem gyntaf fel Dyfarnwr ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf. Mae hi y Dyfarnwr benywaidd cyntaf yn y @VoGAFL ers blynyddoedd. Morgan had her 1st game as a referee last Saturday. She is the 1st female referee in the Vale League for many years.
1 of the highlights of the 2024/25 season for the @VoGAFL & ourselves thus far has been the number of young people who have decided to becomearef.wales & 5 of them were at our meeting on Monday. They are all working hard, keen to learn & as a society we will support them.
