To those who are the 'backbones' in your families/ workplaces/groups either by necessity or appointment: I hope you learn to start prioritizing yourself and your needs too. I promise, the illusion that 'if you're not always there things will fall to the ground' is a mind trap
Key word.... MAY. Not every good child is repressing something. And troublesome kids won't magically become fantastic adults
Were you the “good kid” who “parents never had to worry about”? Watch out for those kids. They may turn up in therapy 10-20 years later with repressed emotions, overfunctioning, and the inability to ask for help because they’ve always had to be perfect.
And when you pray tonight…pray for presence in the present. We spend so much time on the past and future never present. The past is full of “could’ve, should’ve” ..so many regrets. The future is hopeful but we never really know what it holds. Be present.. show up and live now!!
