More validation of our democratic progress: Kosova has improved 3 places and ranks 1st in the WB6 in @vdeminstitute's 2023 Electoral Democracy Index. Much work has been done to achieve this result, and there is much more to do. Even better—more democratic—days are still to come.

Had a productive call this afternoon with US Senator @ChrisMurphyCT discussing our friendly relations, the normalization agreement with Serbia and yesterday’s recognition of Kosova by @vdeminstitute as the nr.1 ranking country in the WB6 on the 2023 Electoral Democracy Index.

I met EU HR/VP @JosepBorrellF and Special Rep @MiroslavLajcak @MunSecConf We had the opportunity to discuss further the EU Proposal — initiated by 🇩🇪 & 🇫🇷 — for normalization of relations between Kosova & Serbia, just ahead of the next high-level meeting in Brussels.

With today's unanimous support by the European Union to lift border controls, Croatia is now set to become both a member of the Eurozone and the Schengen Zone by January 1, 2023. Congratulations to the people of 🇭🇷 and PM @AndrejPlenkovic on achieving this historic milestone.

Grateful to Germany & EU, our key partners in the advancement of Kosova's development agenda. With the signed financing agreement, 🇽🇰 receives over 100 million € for projects on environmental protection, solid waste & wastewater management. The green agenda remains our priority.

Back to Élysee, my third time in two years. Thanked President @EmmanuelMacron for the French-German proposal as a good basis for talks to normalize relations between Kosova & Serbia. We are committed to rule of law and President Macron confirmed his support for peace & security.

After discussions at #ParisPeaceForum, last night we had the honor & pleasure of attending the gala dinner at the Élysée Palace. Together w/ my wife Rita, we were welcomed by the French President @EmmanuelMacron & the First Lady of 🇫🇷, Brigitte Marie-Claude Macron.

The @AFD_France is a major stakeholder for development in the world, involved in the region through the #WBIF donors body. I had the opportunity to discuss with Cyrille Bellier recent government programs and how AFD can support Kosova.

My heartfelt condolences to the Republic of Türkiye after today's deadly explosion in Istanbul. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives, and I wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

At the margins of @ParisPeaceForum I discussed the geopolitical situation with former @UN Deputy SG @JGuehenno and MFA of 🇭🇷Grlić Radman, and support for our social programs with new #CEB Governor Carlo Monticelli.

Ahead of today's @ParisPeaceForum I met with HR/VP @JosepBorrellF to discuss the Brussels Proposal supported by France, Germany and US, on normalization of relations w/ Serbia. We must not delay talks on the legally binding agreement as we address current issues.
