Relieved to see the declared end to the #Ebola outbreak in Uganda. Kudos to all involved in helping stop the virus in its tracks, & especially compadres @UgandaRedCross @VaMukuvare @jpkelliott for their operational excellence.

Good news indeed! The courage and dedication of frontline responders - including those from @UgandaRedCross - as well as communities – is a major factor in the successful response to this outbreak.

#Madagascar: In #Mananjary many families were displaced when their homes were destroyed by #CycloneBatsirai. Teams from @MadaRedCross and @ifrc are helping affected people to get back on their feet. Shelter is one of the most urgent needs.

Another tropical #cyclone in #Mozambique 🤔Worrying. But the solace is that Mozambicans have learnt lessons from past storms, and that families in the path of #CycloneEloise have been relocated to safer areas by Red Cross teams.

This is was the situation yesterday, in #Mozambique, in #Buzi. Heavy rains, ahead of #CycloneEloise. Red Cross teams helped families to move to safer areas. More details to follow. #Eloise.

Watching pictures of Americans, British, Canadians get vaccinated is like waiting in economy line & watching business class board. By the time economy class boards, business class has their seat belts on, drinking champagne, munching warm cashews, looking at the menu. #inequity
