Breaking: the NLRB has banned captive audience meetings nationwide
As Starbucks workers, we’re winning real power on the job - together. ✊🔥 Our worker-led union of 10,000+ baristas, Starbucks Workers United, is winning BIG at the bargaining table. We’re stronger when we’re united. Reach out and let’s organize! app.sosha.ai/s/24lb7sZq
New York has passed an amendment to protect access to abortion & ban discrimination of transgender / LGBTQ+ individuals.
Yay for 2 Broadway!!! Congrats everyone!!!!
You hear that?? 😳 It's time for MORE UNION WINS 🤩‼️ Workers across the country just voted for and WON their unions this week! Send a congratulations to... ✊Cowan Crossing - Fredericksburg, VA ✊Sheffield & Diversey - Chicago, IL ✊2 Broadway - New York City, NY
ALLIES, BEWARE... WE NEED YOUR HELP TO WIN WHAT'S FAIR! 😱👻✊ As the busiest months of the year for workers are almost upon us, baristas are taking action - and we need YOU right beside us. Pledge to host an October #RedForBread event in your community! bit.ly/scarystaffing
wowww did any1 else see the sky last night🤩🤩
northern lights tonight at a beach on the north shore of long island. got to exchange lots of photos of the sky with my union friends across the country. i love solidarity
The Vegas Strip is now officially 100% union. Workers struggled and organized for this for years and years. It's a massive achievement.
Dozens of union hotel workers were arrested on the Vegas Strip yesterday as thousands rallied for a better contract. The workers of @Culinary226 flooded the strip, demanding that Vegas's 3 big resort conglomerates negotiate a fair contract. 40,000 could strike at any moment.
Our “Red 4 Thread” on Ithaca’s union campaign history! Sharing interesting facts about us and what we have done as a union. #ToBeAPartner
Haitians outside Trump's rally in Uniondale
Have a glimpse of our beautiful home in Ithaca, New York! We hope you will support us and tell Starbucks that it’s time to return to our city and create meaningful spaces, not just for workers, but also for our community. Thank you!
I saw a tweet where someone was shocked at the idea that it could be illegal to close a store, which helped crystallize something for me about left/liberal discussions about Democrats and labor organizing. (Quick thread.)
Huge news: The NLRB today ruled that Starbucks illegally closed all three stores in Ithaca. The agency ordered that those stores be re-opened, with the unionized staff re-hired and given 16 months of backpay. This is why Starbucks is suing to destroy the NLRB.
People's trust in unions is growing because people are realizing that unions are us. We are unions. The working class. People. Together. And we're finding that putting trust in each other and having each other’s backs delivers results. Stronger and better together. ✊ Forward!
Across the board, Americans' trust in institutions is on the decline. And, yes, that includes police and the military. EXCEPT ONE. Any guesses? Unions. Come to the cool kids' table.
Good thread on why the ALJ decision against Starbucks in Ithaca is rock-solid, despite fascist tears. People who believe Starbucks’ bullshit about union stores not being profitable should also ask Starbucks why they refused to substantiate that in court.
Since Ithaca Starbucks has blown up on C*nservative Tw*tter (again), I figured I’d give an update on what happened in Ithaca that led to the closures and why they were truly illegal.
Congratulations to Ithaca workers for their win and thank you Evan for updating all of us on what has happened since <3

The people number of defending the rights of a gigantic corporation that would grind their bodies like beans into coffee... Starbucks has repeatedly broken a 90-year-old law by firing 100s of organizing workers & shutting down their stores. Without labor law, we’re all chum.
