I was very pleased and privileged to have the Karhmandu #Nepal Chief Administrator (CDO), Mr Jaya Narayan Acharya, visiting me again today at the IFRC Office. We had great discussions as usual and an opportunity for me to update the work of #IFRC and membership.

It’s nearly a month since the major floods gutted the Kathmandu valley and its neighbouring districts. To date, over 10,000 households have received relief supplies, psychological first aid, hygiene education and over 500 families receiving cash grants from NRCS #IFRC

Over 100 volunteer of Nepal Red Cross are providing support to over 10 of the most flood affected districts of country while more needs to be done as the damage unfolds with #IFRC and membership support.

@NepalRedCross is providing critical lifesaving support such as NFIs, hygiene and dignity kits, establishing evacuation centres, etc. to the people affected by the devastating flood and landslide. IFRC Network is supporting the NRCS Emergency Operation Centre.

With incessant rains, the #NRCS is complementing activities with early action and current actions including evacuation of affected communities. #IFRC and membership in country continue to support and monitor the situation.

Continued rain from 25 September has hugely impacted communities. At least 14 districts including Kathmandu Valley reported loss of lives. @NepalRedCross is on the ground: - At least 150 staff and volunteers are on the ground - At least 1,000 people receive support on NFIs

#NRCS organized 3 days long Red Cross Emergency Clinic in earthquake affected Darma Municipality of Salyan District. A total of 997 people received general heath check up and MHPSS services along with free medicine. News coverage from Kantipur Television of the same event.
