Beautiful! Congratulations Dr. Dara

The third season of our archaeological investigation at Igboukwu has come to an end. One of our trenches was all rather pit-tastic. These pit features produced some highly decorated ceramics different from what we have seen so far from Shaw’s recovery in the 1960s.

👍

Settler researchers, when an Indigenous person provides u feedback on ways of working with our communities, do not respond with, “I’ve been working with Indigenous communities for ‘x’ years and in my experience …..” Times have changed my friends. This is not your space to lead.

Non-Indigenous anthropologists do not have an inherent right to study Indigenous ancestors. When good, ethical relations are built between Indigenous people and non-Indigenous scholars, amazing research can result. Nothing about us without us.
