We’re not empathy starved. The whole world empathizes with us. Our people are literally starving. We don’t need Kamala’s nice tone. We need her to open borders to allow food, we need her to stop sending weapons, we need her to end military aid. Also don’t speak for us.
In the speech, Kamala adopts a firm tone when discussing Netanyahu. She heavily implies she understands he's been a key obstacle to a deal. But she communicates empathy w & frustration at civilian suffering on both sides. Palestinians have been empathy-starved, so this matters.
All she had to do was stand with the ICJ, talk about how Netanyahu is Israel's Trump, and layout a plan to help Palestine rebuild after Netanyahu's conviction. Being this soft on Israel will lose her Michigan and other swing states with large Middle Eastern populations.
