I absolutely love the Championship and it's competiveness But the fact we are 4th with our drab, dreary, unattractive football does suggest the general standard must be a lot worse this year
Fair play to Parker for making changes. Still room for improvement but much better performance that. Anthony looks much more dangerous on the right. Sarmiento looked bright. Back 4 played well. We're a better side with Pires playing.

We have a left winger who can't beat a man and a right winger who can... but then can't pass. Absolutely no creativity.

People getting on players backs but the problem is the system. Foster is always isolated and has no service. The 3 central midfielders are too spread so don't make possession triangles. Clearly a focus on maintaining possession over creating chances.
No goals from open play in 3 games against bottom half sides. One shot on target today against a side just above relegation. Tepid, slow, predictable... just not good enough

Dull 45mins. Lots of pretty passing and decent possessions but zero cutting edge. Need to increase the tempo and get the fullbacks higher
Today felt like we got out of jail a little. Don't think we played particularly well and thankful somewhat that Pompey decided to stop playing. Fair play to Parker who made subs that changed our tempo. We can't have the lethargic approach we had for the first 60mins

After the week we've had #twitterclarets it was a better performance than I expected. Loads of effort, some tidy build up play. Just disappointing that when they went down to 10 men we didn't test their keeper once. Poor around the box.
