Disney sells stormtrooper toys and costumes to kids, you can play Imperials in Battlefront, you can get your photo taken with a FO trooper at Disney and that's fine but want to play as an Imperial in a story focused FPS because you're tired of rebel storylines and all of a sudden

There was an unproduced arc of The Clone Wars that was going to be a riff on Top Gun, featuring Rex and R2-D2. The fun thing about TCW is you could do all those different riffs. But tbh an entire series/film that's just Star Wars: Top Gun always seemed a little superfluous to me.
Starfighter dogfights are such a joy to watch :) (A Top Gun-esque Star Wars show or movie would be amazing and I will die on this hill)
