NVIDIA GTC 2024 just wrapped up with some amazing announcements. 9 incredible reveals you don't want to miss: 1. Project GR00T - initiative to create a foundation model for humanoid robot learning
As I became more and more successful I started to get deeply depressed. Because I realized that this thing I had spent so much time on and sacrificed so much for didn’t bring me any happiness. And with that I had to accept that nothing I achieved would ever make me happy.
Plugins for processing a video clip, no ffmpeg wizardry required. Actual use-case from today's launch.
All the best examples of GPT-4, from OpenAI:
ppl look at this guy being one of the richest ppl on the planet and think this system is normal.
If you ever wonder how is it possible a guy like Elon is so disconnected with what the average person actually thinks of him it's because this is who he surrounds himself with
🚨WE CAUGHT HIM! Watch what happened when @ezralevant and I spotted Albert Bourla, the CEO of Pfizer, on the street in Davos today. We finally asked him all the questions the mainstream media refuses to ask. Full story: rebelne.ws/3IZvjbo SUPPORT: WEFreports.com
Here we go. I guess that ship has sailed. Researchers started adding ChatGPT as co-author on their papers 🫣 PS: Dear researchers, you forgot the version number! medrxiv.org/content/10.110… (thx @3scorciav for sharing this!)
Re: ChatGPT and authorship. If a person creates or contributes results for a paper, this person is a coauthor. But this naturally doesn’t extend to models or algorithms. Imagine AlphaFold were an author on the AlphaFold paper. So, why would/should it be different for ChatGPT?!
This is a frightening visual for me. The first dot is the amount of data Chat GPT 3 was trained on. The second is what chat GPT 4 is trained on. They are already doing demos. It can write a 60,000 word book from a single prompt. The only question I've had about AI…
Who you work with matters more than what you work on
Knowledge without experience is just philosophy. Philosophy alone creates a brittle house of ideology.
Traveling is consumption disguised as self discovery. You can learn more about yourself and the world by reading books and sitting quietly in a room for a few minutes everyday.
technological progress is the only thing that delivers real, sustainable economic growth
also, people who try to win arguments with “i have xx years of experience” are second only to the “i have xyz credentials” crowd in terms of lack of likelihood of actually responding to the critical point.
experience and competence are not the same thing, and it’s wild how much many industries value the first over the second.
colleges prioritized making people feel perfectly safe over everything else and produced a generation afraid to fail, and thus afraid to take risk, and thus on pace to accomplish extremely little
Such a cool story!!!!! This is why I went into science journalism, to cover stuff like this. Well done Aussies! 😃sciencealert.com/a-huge-step-fo…
