Dr Bawa-Garba coming across dignified and earnest, wishing her the best with her appeal. Honestly these are circumstances any one of us can & do find ourselves in - covering multiple jobs due to rota gaps, IT system failures etc etc. Comments quite disgusting tbh #BawaGarba

"I would like to apologise wholeheartedly once again to Jack's family"- Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba is appealing against being struck off medical register after the six-year-old's death. Read the full story here: trib.al/OzCzRvz

I’m doing a talk on D-dimers next month so here’s a quick poll for clinicians who regularly request this test: ‘in the investigation of suspected pulmonary embolism, D-dimer is...’

Particularly frustrating having to complete multiple elearning modules for different organisations when rotating from for e.g. GP to hospital, or locum back into training, esp when some certificates valid for a few years.. #elearning #nhs #juniordoctors #training

As I struggle to complete mandatory Safeguarding training on-line I’m left feeling deflated & demoralised. Who thought that e-learning on such an emotive topic can be done in isolation? Who’s created this monster of anti-eduction tick box? We need reflective peer learning groups

Another tragic and unnecessary death. I think every junior doctor in today’s NHS can empathise. We’ve all been there, to some degree. Myself included. This is what it’s like. /thread birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-…

A 25 year old doctor has hanged himself in his hospital, only 3 days into his new job. Guys, if you are feeling overwhelmed, desperate, broken or depressed, *please* seek help. A mate / colleague / @BMA 24/7 phone counselling / Samaritans on 116123. birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-…

Will be catching up w this online, a v important issue. In looking after others pls don’t forget to look after yourselves.. Some of the things we see & deal with day2day can stay with us, v important to talk & get support whenever you need it #juniordoctors #nhs #mentalhealth

Nowhere in this article is there any mention of the systemic failings at that trust on that day, or that this doctor was covering multiple clinical areas in a short staffed Paeds unit, with IT system failures to compound. #bawagarba #iamhadiza #nhs #gmc #bapio #juniordoctor

BAPIO played the race card in order to get an incompetent doctor reinstated: spiked-online.com/newsite/articl…

Sounds simple but always remember to check a patients allergies before prescribing, particularly for unfamiliar patients during on call shifts etc #TipsForNewDocs #medicalstudent #fy1 #fy2 #juniordoctors #nhs

Hey @gmcuk I'm a trainee. Are patients entirely my responsibility unless I EXPLICITLY ask for the Consultant to review? What about my unknown unknowns? If I don't ask for help on an issue I'm unaware of (I am a trainee after all), am I also liable? #BawaGarba @djnicholl

The conditions leading to #BawaGarba case are endemic in nearly every NHS Hospital every day, hence just one reason the @gmcuk must lose. If #BawaGarba loses any Junior Doctor in NHS could follow by pure happenstance @djnicholl @DrJennyVaughan @RCPLondon @DacreJane

Seeing a lot of general public comments re “doctors get paid a lot to do blah blah”.... am I getting the wrong pay slip?! Most of our friends and colleagues have a tough time saving anything after paying rent and bills! #nhs #juniordoctor #medicine #fy1 #fy2

Ward jobs are important day to day but as a trainee remember to prioritise your assessments & eportfolio, get CEX & CBDs done whenever you can... as a med spr told me, the best ward doctor with an incomplete eportfolio still won’t get signed off #TipsForNewDocs #fy1 #fy2 #nhs

Sort out annual leave early in the rotation with your colleagues so everyone can get the leave they want as far as possible #TipsForNewDocs #fy1 #fy2 #juniordoctors #medicine #nhs #medicalstudent

There’s always time for lunch/a break. Unless there’s an emergency on the ward, the TTAs/other jobs can wait 20 mins while you take a break to rest, nip to the loo and grab some food #TipsForNewDocs #fy1 #fy2 #medicine #nhs #juniordoctor

Always always always ask for help if you’re unsure of anything, talk to a senior, it’s why they’re there.. don’t be afraid to run something past your Reg/consultant if you’re concerned or feel uncomfortable #TipsForNewDocs #fy1 #fy2 #juniordoctors #medicine #nhs

The List is your best friend, keep it up to date, add to it every day, update plans for patients, & use it to keep an eye on jobs throughout the day A clear, concise jobs list is also a HUGE help during on call shifts especially ward cover #TipsForNewDocs #fy1 #juniordoctor

As the new FY1s are preparing to start their first jobs (congratulations & welcome!!), we’ll be tweeting tips and things we learnt during our own foundation years over the next week or so.. #TipsForNewDocs #tipsforfy1 #fy1 #fy2 #juniordoctors #medicine

Have had several patients express casually racist views over the last few weeks... important to state that these views are unacceptable Unbelievable that ppl think this is acceptable & that their GP would somehow collude?! #gp #generalpractice #teamgp #brexitbritain #race

Wow this 45 minute Information Governance elearning module is so useful and such a great use of my time....... Said no person ever 🤦🏻‍♂️ #teamGP #juniordoctor #GPtraining #generalpractice #medicine #nhs #elearning

Definitely agree with this... have found myself having to chase patients who DNA or refuse treatment, responsibility seems to be heavily skewed towards GPs #teamGP #generalpractice #GP #juniordoctor #medicine #fy1 #fy2 #nhs

#RCGPCouncil member - one unintended negative of person-centred care is that GPs have all of the responsibility for patients, without any of the authority. What does patient-centred actually mean? There are always two people involved
