The vote is happening this evening - there is still time to spread the word & take action. Urge the US House to stand up for free speech and vote NO on allowing the Trump admin to defund nonprofits who engage in dissent or whose missions oppose their policies.

Huge shoutout to @ettacetera and Let’s Get Free for the organizing they do to hold the Board accountable. We have a lot of work to do to get the Board of Pardons to a place where some of the 5,300 people sentenced to die in PA prisons can have a genuine shot at a second chance.

Straight Ahead Reposted

The election of Dave Sunday to Attorney General will likely bring some changes to the Board. Offering second chances to people who have turned their lives around shouldn’t be a partisan issue, and we hope he'll be a champion for redemption in his work on the Board.

James Rivers, Charles Slaughter, and James Taylor will all get the chance to make their case for a second chance before the Board in early 2025.

To get a public hearing, an applicant needs 3 out of 5 “yes” votes. Out of 32 applications, only 3 people were granted public hearings.

Good morning, Pennsylvania. The Board of Pardons convened this morning for merit reviews, where they rapidly voted on whether to grant public hearings to 32 people sentenced to die in prison.

And vote y’all did. Congratulations @SummerForPA 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Get out & VOTE if you haven't already for Erin McClelland for PA treasurer to protect working Pennsylvanians' pensions & savings from Wall Street & greedy corporations. Be in line at your polling place by 8PM. pa.gov/en/services/vo…

I believe our public sector pension dollars should be invested in American investments, American jobs, and the American dream, not propping up foreign oil. #MadeinAmerica youtu.be/sbUQkZicKnE

There should be no question on which state auditor candidate you're voting for: Malcolm Kenyatta, a progressive who will hold Harrisburg spending & agencies accountable.

Let’s do this, Pennsylvania! Polls are open NOW until 8pm. Any questions: iwillvote.com/pa

Please vote today to protect those who can't vote, to safeguard the progressive gains we've made & to elect key state officials. If you're in line by 8pm, you can vote. You only need ID if it's your first time at your polling place or you changed your name since you last voted.

Straight Ahead Reposted

You do not have to show ID to vote in Pennsylvania UNLESS it is your first time voting at a polling place. Do not let them turn you away. If you have forgotten your ID at a new polling place, request a provisional ballot. They cannot deny you the right to vote.

Or if you decide you want to vote in person, bring your mail-in ballot with you and election workers will "spoil" that ballot so you can vote at your polling place instead.

If you’re in Philly & you have not returned your Vote By Mail ballot you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to return it directly to the Satellite Election Office in your community. It’s easy & they have staff to help you. Got questions call 215-686-8683 or go to vote.phila.gov.
