The vote is happening this evening - there is still time to spread the word & take action. Urge the US House to stand up for free speech and vote NO on allowing the Trump admin to defund nonprofits who engage in dissent or whose missions oppose their policies.
Huge shoutout to @ettacetera and Let’s Get Free for the organizing they do to hold the Board accountable. We have a lot of work to do to get the Board of Pardons to a place where some of the 5,300 people sentenced to die in PA prisons can have a genuine shot at a second chance.
The election of Dave Sunday to Attorney General will likely bring some changes to the Board. Offering second chances to people who have turned their lives around shouldn’t be a partisan issue, and we hope he'll be a champion for redemption in his work on the Board.
James Rivers, Charles Slaughter, and James Taylor will all get the chance to make their case for a second chance before the Board in early 2025.
To get a public hearing, an applicant needs 3 out of 5 “yes” votes. Out of 32 applications, only 3 people were granted public hearings.

You do not have to show ID to vote in Pennsylvania UNLESS it is your first time voting at a polling place. Do not let them turn you away. If you have forgotten your ID at a new polling place, request a provisional ballot. They cannot deny you the right to vote.
Or if you decide you want to vote in person, bring your mail-in ballot with you and election workers will "spoil" that ballot so you can vote at your polling place instead.
