No words can do justice to what @andy_murray & @ThanasiKokkinakis put themselves through @AustralianOpen - one of greatest contests I've ever seen with Sir Andy winning 7-5 in 5th from 2 sets down at 4.07 AM Melbourne time in 5hrs 45 mins. Andy's longest match & one of his best

Race Director line to be automated? Press 1 to complain about a penalty 2 to ask for a penalty to be applied 3 to tell us how to do our job 4 if you’re thinking of leaving us Calls are recorded for training purposes & we’re experiencing a high volume of calls at this time #F1

Like the ref in any sport, the stewards cannot please everyone, and they have made mistakes no question but what cannot be allowed to continue, in my view, is this live barraging of officials whether it's honest emotion or cynically done to influence. #AbuDhabiGP

Great paddock banter/humour. Mercedes posts a pic of Bottas doing some post-race donuts to send the W11 into retirement. Red Bull responds with: 'Retirement? Racing Point, your 2021 car is available for collection!' Mercedes hits back with: 'Red Bull: turning up late, again..."

Wow... F1 is cruel and rewarding in equal measure. What an absolutely fantastic drive by Russell. And if it had to end like that, who better to pick up the pieces than Checho? His drive was fabulous too. Both of them so dignified later. A credit to themselves and to F1.

Lord knows what M25-spec Sakhir will serve up this weekend but if George is still in the Merc in Ab Dab I'd fancy his chances of winning that -- no disrespect to VB or Max, nor wanting to up the already considerable pressure!

Bugger: missed out on George at 1000/1. That should have been yesterday morning's job...

I didn’t think we were allowed to defend when we are blue falgged? 😅😂

George Russell to race the Mercedes at Sakhir and Jack Aitken to replace George in the Williams. Great news!

GOAT debates. F1: Fangio? Clark? Senna? Schumacher? Hamilton? Debatable. Tennis: Rafa? Roger? Novak? Rod? Debatable. F1 commentators: @benedwardstv No debate required. A privilege to work with him. Blow his trumpet because, assuredly, he never would. Top professional and fellow.

Spooky symmetry. In '08 Hamilton wins Silverstone in drive some think his best. On same day Nadal beats Federer in best Wimbledon final. 12yrs on, Lewis catches Michael. On same day, Rafa wins Federer-equalling 20th slam with what might be his best performance against Djokovic.

What a nonsense penalty for Nikita Mazepin in F2. Did a great job to keep his mouth shut... If you're going to have DRS you can't expect a race leader not to defend it on the last lap of a race. This is supposed to be RACING.

I understand there is no truth in the story that Perez will test his eyesight by driving the Racing Point to Barnard Castle 🧐 #F1

Should win it by a country mile...

How is @RafaelNadal not a contender for world sports star of the year @BBCSPOTY

What's harder to overcome, Serena Williams and a godawful American crowd cheering your double faults in a grand slam final, or Lewis Hamilton hassling you relentlessly while driving a Ferrari at Monza? Congratulations Bianca Andreescu and Charles Leclerc -- brilliant victories!

As much as I'd love to see Leclerc win a race, thank the Lord for 'no further action' here in Austria. If that had been penalised it would have been time to pack up and play tiddlywinks...

Brilliant to see @IanJamesPoulter winning again today - this time from P123 on day 1. Staggering resilience. #HoustonOpen

Congrats @IanJamesPoulter Fantastic ballsy win in Houston. Good luck in Augusta next week with the sticks instead of the Sky microphone! Hope F1 fraternity can find a way to follow it in Bahrain.
