The very persuasive argument for not using the word #Tatmadaw to describe the brutal, rights abusing #Myanmar military. Very insightful, helpful article - which has certainly persuaded me. #WhatsHappeninginMyanmar #SaveMyanmar teacircleoxford.com/politics/sit-t…

Outrageous effort by #Myanmar junta to revoke passport, & force return of fashion model Han Lay to #Burma is foiled by international effort to keep her safe. She now safely arrived in #Canada, which "deserves the thanks of the wider world" for helping her. mizzima.com/article/hrw-cr…

Lacking legitimacy and an economic policy, the strategy of #Myanmar’s military junta is to enrich the Generals & rule through crony capitalism. The junta is more of a criminal enterprise than a state entity.

#Myanmar junta restricted access to records on Myanmar's corporate registry, Directorate of Investment & Company Admin. This is part of junta attempts to seize control of economy for benefit of generals & their cronies, who want to pursue their criminal biz activities in secret.
