So very proud of @DanielCerasale and @DomWard3 @ChemistryCU for their hard work on this review, and we really enjoyed putting a cover image together! ICYMI, it's all about #MOFs and time.

Our January 2022 issue is live! go.nature.com/31PmC03 • Following MOFs in time • Designing metalloproteins • Azobenzenes, what's next? • Shapeshifting microfluidics Plus what #COP26 means for chemists, a celebration of 25 years of GFP, and some #ResearchHighlights

Aah…I found an unposted tweet in my drafts…from when I was stuck at the airport on the way home to Australia after the #MOF2024 conference in Singapore in July! That was a particularly brilliant conference for catching up with old colleagues and friends…and making new ones 🙂

We're very grateful to the @RoySocChem for an RSC Researcher Collaborations Grant which enabled this event to brainstorm and establish new networks and collaboration. Thanks to everyone who joined to contribute to the discussions.

Fantastic to host both old friends and new from @UL and @ICMol_UV for two days discussing all things MOF. @UoBChemistry

Delighted that this team effort from the group is out - we have tried to summarise the vast range of capsule-type architectures in the literature, including their synthesis, properties and limitations. We hope this will be a useful resource! @UoBChemistry

We are running a survey to determine perceptions on chemical reactivity and would appreciate the help of any chemist who can spare a few minutes to fill out the questionnaire. We promise neither rewards nor glory, only infinite gratitude. openuil.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_er…

Congratulations to Musa Mahmud for defending his PhD thesis! The 49th PhD graduate from our group. It has been quite the journey for Musa from his hometown of Gashua in northern Nigeria to his PhD at @UoBChemistry Thanks to Angelo Amoroso, @TimEasun and @TABarendt for examining.

Stand down, Internet, @a_m_nightingale has solved our mystery. Thanks for playing!

My daughter is trying to remember a kids programme probably on the BBC. Things she recalls: 4(?) characters. A purple "techie" one. An orange one that likes cones. A green one that likes DIY. May have a hamster with lots of tunnels. A blue "tidy" one.

Should PI’s really be judged on years post-PhD? This disadvantages those with different career journeys. I’m 18m post independence but 12y post PhD viva so I’m ineligible for the majority of Early Career schemes but completely uncompetitive for mid-career schemes. 😕
