I believe that any rigorous intellectual discussion of dance music must be kept behind closed doors. The only real way to discuss this music is statements like "HOUSE MUSIC!!!!!" "Loved this back in 08" "proper choon" etc. the average dance music review is too long

Can is the quintessential music nerd band. They’re the gateway to so much outré music for so many people. And the thing is, you don’t explore the rest of krautrock or experimental rock music at large without gaining clarity that Can were, in fact, one of the best to ever do it.
I heard the news about Damo Suzuki and immediately had to blast "Halleluwah" - listening with my son now, telling him about one of the greatest bands to ever exist, soaking in Damo's shambolic magic. RIP to one of the realest to ever do it
I was fortunate to watch Damo Suzuki live in the early 2000s when he came to Belgrade's old gunpowder fortress and torn the place apart with his band. It felt like a train hit me in the head. Rest in peace, master.
It's cool that one of the best albums ever is about falling in love with Vincent Gallo.
