I personally would look at a large Labour majority as a great seeding bed for a new era of dissent. Members who can make a fuss and pass through the nay chamber without causing a government defeat. What's not to like. Actually good PR for Starmer who would not look so Stalinist.

A small majority - say 20 or 30 - weakens a government. They're vulnerable to backbench rebellion and by-elections. But beyond that, it really doesn't make too much difference.

The problem isn't a large Labour majority. It is that our entire system allows governments to do whatever they please in the Commons. And that remains the case regardless of how heavily Labour win.

I don't like large majorities. But this idea that a Labour landslide would remove checks and balances is wrong. There are no checks and balances. With a majority of 80, the Tories could pretty much do what they like. A majority of 250 really isn't meaningfully different.

This literally happened to me. A few days after the referendum, a guy told me “you should leave. Why are you still here. I voted to kick you lot out” - it was the worst thing anyone ever said to me in my local pub and I nearly snapped.

Yesterday a cab driver told me a man got into his cab a day after Brexit referendum & told him ‘we’ve won, people like you who’ve taken our jobs will be sent back’ Cab driver replied “I’m from Jamaica, I don’t know if you’ve looked at a map, but Jamaica isn’t in the EU” 1/2

Keir Starmer was out on the campaign trail in Essex today taking lots of questions from reporters... Meanwhile, radio silence from Rishi Sunak who was in his constituency 😶

People like Farage are the broadcasting equivalent of the tits on page three of the Sun.

BBC at it again @bbclaurak interviewing @Nigel_Farage again, this time from his constituency with sunny backdrop. Fair and balanced? Or click bait

How did, arguably, the most successful politucal party in the history of modern democrtic politics with a 300 year existance behind it, come to this ?. A questiin that will keep political historians occupied for decades.

I so much look forward to the decimation of the Tory party and the flushing down the pan of all those grifters, shysters, posh spivs, multiple personas, bullshitters, downright liars, gaslighters and corrupt apparatchiks that have infested our public life for the past 14 yrs.

Fucking hate reform racists. Sick of having to worry about losing the NHS at the hands of farage just because they hate migrants and fcuk everyone else caught in the crossfire. Theyd step on their own just to stick the knife in refugees and its disgusting
