This is a good example of why STEM people need to study the humanities and social sciences

Here's what Elon Musk recommended to govern Mars: “Direct democracy by the people. Laws must be short, as there is trickery in length. Automatic expiration of rules to prevent death by bureaucracy. Any rule can be removed by 40% of people to overcome inertia. Freedom.”

Musk didn't buy a seat in the White House, he bought a seat in the Oval Office. Musk casually walked in on a Trump call with Zelensky. Now Vance has threatened U.S. withdrawal from NATO if Europe tries to regulate Musk’s platforms. The fuckery has begun.

MAGA - like Brexit - movements led by wealthy individuals who con their followers into "socking it to the elites" even as they seek to strip them of their rights ... and make themselves rich off the chaos

Really smashed the elite there guys.

Kemi Badenoch's cheerleading of Donald Trump at PMQs shows the Conservatives are totally out of touch with our values We should be standing up for human rights, the rule of law and international security - not rolling out the red carpet for Trump.

dreadful news to wake up to, but don’t pretend like the rise of right wing ignorance is a problem only america is facing. calling america stupid like there weren’t racists rioting in the uk two months ago. it’s a problem for all of us.

I think what I'm least looking forward to from a UK perspective is liberal talking heads congratulating themselves that "at least we're not heading that way over here" when any clear-eyed analysis of the last election result will demonstrate that's *exactly* the path we are on.

Remember a week or so ago when it was supposedly a huge outrage for *junior* Labour staff to be canvassing for the Democrats? And Farage popped up all over about the ‘scandal’? No? Nb: parliament is in session this week, so he’s skipping his taxpayer-funded job for this.

I just don’t understand why this couldn’t have been his signature outfit. Like it feels very Doctor-y, the coat, a bit of weirdness, it’s very easily identifiable (esp to kids who want to wear this as a costume).

I don't like the Fifteenth Doctor's cycling wardrobe because he dresses too normal. His outfits can look good but not fitting for the Doctor. In TCoRR you've got something that really works and given we're getting similar this Christmas, they must realise how striking it was.
