Chris Robinson MBE spoke to a full capacity audience yesterday (13th Nov). His illustrated talk on Plymouth since WW2 was followed by a presentation where he was made a Patron of the PPL. We very much look forward to working with him in the future.

Our next coffee morning (with homemade cakes & mince pies) takes place on Sat 14th Dec from 10.30am to 12.30pm (cost: £4 each). We will be welcoming back members of the Devonport Park Community Choir who will join us to sing a few carols (audience participation very welcome!).

During today's coffee morning, Sandra Greenhalgh was made an honorary member of the Plymouth Proprietary Library in recognition of all her work, not least in finding and securing our current premises. The presentation was made by PPL President, Father Gregory Carpenter.
Cheese scones, lemon drizzle and chocolate brownies are just some of the homemade cakes available at the coffee morning tomorrow (Saturday 9th Nov: 10.30am-12.30pm). £4 per person. Both members and visitors welcome.
Details of the Christmas meal & talk for those who have booked a place. The event is now SOLD OUT. The library will be open as normal between 10.30 & 12.30 for book borrowing & returning. There will also be a tombola throughout the day & an informal Victorian quiz on the tables.
Many thanks to everyone who turned up for the book craft event yesterday, and to Louise for organising and running it. For those who couldn't make it, we hope to repeat this workshop in the new year.

Tomorrow's book craft event is fully booked. This workshop will combine traditional book-making techniques with modern materials to create a unique notebook. We hope to run the same workshop again next year - if interested, please e-mail Darren at admin@theppl.org.uk
