I’m telling you. Even my anxiety disappears and I start moving like I’m Wonder Woman.

There is nothing you cannot achieve 12 hours before an immovable deadline

Academia is held together by caffeine, free labour, and the two people who nod encouragingly during presentations

There is no shame in suicidal thoughts. They are the body’s attempt to escape overwhelm and get back to a sense of safety, purpose and connection. We should pay attention to and notice them - not try and hide from them. Shame dies when stories are told in safe places.

This is nasty! Actual Palestinians are busy fighting for their lives and this is what you have come on the internet to say. Fighting for justice is not a tit for tat.

Y’all PEEP how Palestinians are very quiet about Venezuelan and Haitian slander, but was guilt tripping everyone all year to support them.

Day 2 of ##RAISE24 kicked off with a hugely engaging session on Stress Testing our values in challenging times from Prof Zainab Khan, @LSBU Lots of food for thought for the day ahead!

I’m American and I wouldn’t want to live there permanently.

Most people would live in America if they had the chance. And people who don’t live in America are jealous of Americans.

There was a time when the sector seemed worried about the awarding gap between white and non-white students.

I love the @RAISEnetwork conference!!! It’s my favourite conference hands down. All the exciting and innovative work students and staff are doing across the UK make my heart burst with joy and hope ☺️🥰 A breath of fresh air !

Fantastic question from @TTimeEdu to Zainab Khan: what beings you hope? She answers: staff and students who care and want to see change. Fab way to end the keynote! #RAISE24

This is why I laugh at women who disparage feminism under the male gaze. Baby, whether you like it or not, feminism changed your life. Without feminism women are nothing, we're dehumanized objects under the patriarchy - dey play.

women werent allowed to open a bank account in the usa until 1974??????!!???!!???!????!??????

Brilliant event to be part of and great to be in such a supportive space. Thanks to the organisers for doing an amazing job!

For the second session of day two of our summer school, @Katy_Brown4, @aurelmondon, and @alexkyates2000 consider how to navigate conservative academia when undertaking critical research.

Yesterday I saw this Tweet, today I read the book (partly out of interest and partly so that you don't have to!). I had never heard of @EvelynSvingen before and it is not my intention to undermine her work. I only wish to comment on the limits of positivist criminology. A🧵1/25

Congratulations to @EvelynSvingen for being granted the 2024 ESC European Criminology Book Award for her outstanding book Evolutionary Criminology. The award will be presented on 11 September during the opening ceremony of #Eurocrim2024. More info: eurocrim2024.com
