We are very grateful to have a dedicated team of minders who walk the pangolins into the forest several times a day. Noël is clearly at ease and ready to forage! #pangolin #pangolins #conservation #cameroon instagram.com/p/CmJy0ECqh6F/…

- When did it become a crime - Crimes against the environment is a new concept in contemporary human history, taking front stage only in the last 50 years or so. Illegal wildlife crime is currently considered the fourth largest and most lucrative criminal industry.

- Wildlife Crime – According to research, each year Zimbabwe loses thousands of specimens of wildlife (plant, animal and bird) to poachers. Information awareness can play a pivotal role in reducing wildlife crime. Camera: Adrian Steirn #wildlifecrime #awareness #illegaltrade

- Mudding - Some days you’ve just got to roll with it! Little known pangolin fact- they love mud and dung rolling. Not being able to clean themselves, this practice gives them a good microbiotic wash and a parasite cleanse. #pangolin #throwbackthursday

Thank you @LimbeWildlife for your dedication and help with Miyaka 🙏 He is recovering!

Meet Miyaka, the endangered white-bellied pangolin who came to the LWC at the start of this month. He was rescued from the illegal bushmeat trade. We are pleased to announce he has been transferred to @THFZim to continue his rehabilitation. 💚

- Ngwe released - A beautiful older white bellied pangolin female was recently released by THF Cameroon after coming in with terrible snare wound. Watch the release video here: instagram.com/reel/CjmzgCUKI… #pangolin #rescue

Maza The Marsh Mongoose Learns to Fish! 🐟 Of all the little critters we look after, Maza is turning out to be most entertaining with his antics as he learns. Also known as a water mongoose, Maza was brought to us as an orphaned baby. Video: @THFZim #babyanimal #mongoose

On #WorldAnimalDay theme of 'shared planet', we're sharing from Libassa Wildlife Sanctuary in Liberia who were recently featured on @CNN's 'Call to Earth' series for their work with #pangolin. @THFZim is proud to capacitate them. tinyurl.com/3kn4p9fk

As many mothers of mammals know, night feeds can be simultaneously peaceful and equally exhausting. This recent rescue is adjusting to being bottle fed. Never ideal but we’re grateful for the option when a mother’s milk is unavailable. 🎥@ THFZim #pangolin #babymammal

Thanks @PangolinCrisis for the share on Ekole! We're happy to report Ekole is sleeping in the forest once again after his release this week. instagram.com/reel/CiunLuQqN… Merci to our THF Cameroon team for a job well done! 🙏 #pangolin #cameroon

This beautiful male white-bellied pangolin named Ekole was recently rescued by @THFZim's Cameroon chapter after being caught in a snare. He was found covered in ticks and had a severe worm infection. Once his injuries have healed, he will soon be released back into the wild. 💚

Well done, @JackChimps!

🌿PANGOLINS RELEASED - Our colleagues of the APPACOL-PRN team rescued 2 #pangolins. 1 had wounds & was treated. Both pangolins are back into their habitat. Many thanks to APPACOL-PRN. Thanks to Linda @OATanimaltrust for the treatments & to the @THFZim for its advice #release

- Refresher 💧 - Ever seen a pangolin drink? Now you have. The froth that builds up in the water when a pangolin drinks is from the sticky mucus that covers their tongues and helps them slick up ants when they’re eating.🐜 🐜 🐜 Now you know. #pangolin Vid: E Connelly c.THF

And how very precious they are. #pangolin

Tracking one of these shy, elusive creatures takes immense patience and a philosophical approach to game viewing. Count yourself lucky if you get to spend a few precious moments with a #pangolin. #africanwildlife #travelmore #sustainabletravel #responsibletravel #endangered

Thanks for the share of Kila's story @PangolinCrisis , she is doing well. #pangolin #wildliferescue

Kila, which means ‘gift’ in Lamso, a dialect of North West Cameroon, is @THFZim Cameroon's most recent rescue. She had an injury to her foot which required deep treatment and the removal of 3 of her 4 claws. It may be challenging at first but Kila will climb trees again soon. 💚

Poachers and predators aren't a pangolin's only threats - this beautiful big boy was brought to us by @Zimparks after being hit by a car. A kind passerby alerted Parks and this 13.5kg boy arrived and sadly succumbed to his injuries not long after. Rest in peace, gentle one.
