This is a real life temperature map from yesterday. Incrementalism cannot stop this, we need a Green New Deal NOW!
Just got an update on the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative. Hawaii went from less than 10 percent energy to 35 percent clean energy with a Renewable Portfolio Standard. And the price went down.
$2000 checks to everyone now. If you’re worried about inequality, tax the rich.
Wind farms should not be located so close to schools and residences in Kahuku, a primarily Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community. Legal setback in other places is at least 1 mile. This is NOT a case of “wind energy OR fossil fuels.” This is racism and settler colonialism.

Means testing stimulus payments to $50,000 doesn’t say you care about poverty, it shows you don’t even know what poverty is.
Simple. Fair. Commonsensical.
If passed, worker recall legislation (HB 642 & SB 588) would require hotel employers & others to hire back workers they laid off before looking outside for new workers. As business comes back, workers should be able to come back too. Go here to support: hawaiiworkersagainstcovid.org/tell-legislato…
We cannot cut off relief at $50k. It is shockingly out of touch to assert that $50k is “too wealthy” to receive relief. Millions are on the brink of eviction. Give too little and they’re devastated. Give “too much” and a single mom might save for a rainy day. This isn’t hard.
Democrats are going to approve $1,400 checks. But they’re torn on who gets them. The conservaDem push from Manchin: Phaseout starts at incomes $50K/person, cuts off at $75K. But Chairmen Wyden & Sanders want to keep the $75K-$100K phaseout like last time. This is a live ball.
That's not how you twitter
Fascism alive and well in #Hawaii you are criminalized when you, as an intelligent human, stand against environmental degradation, foreign land speculators, and racist dehumanization
Housing is a right.
Happy Aloha Friday! Just a reminder: Housing is a public health issue.
ʻAʻole HB686!
Apparently, the Hawaiʻi State Legislature is trying to criminalize kiaʻi and environmental activists using model legislation from the #AmericanLegislativeExchangeCouncil or #ALEC, a front that brings legislators and lobbyists together to create laws that benefit corporations (1)
In Civil Beat, Rep. @JeanneKapela explains why she’s proposing tax increases on wealthy individuals and corporations that could generate over $700 million annually: It’s an “urgent test of our moral character.” civilbeat.org/2021/01/its-ti…
First rally and we're already on the news 👐 We must stand for the greater good of the whole, not the greater wealth of a few. The time is now. #TaxTheRich!!!
