At the end of the year the Nasdaq will be ___________ than now

Big pop today as Tilman Fertitta raises his stake in $WYNN to 9.9% from 6.1%. Knowing T as I do, it seems logical this will not just be a passive stake. He doesn’t just sit around collecting stocks. This is really rare and unusual for him. Could he just sit on it? Sure.…

Doesn't take 2 good eyes to see that government contractors are getting smoked on concern that the newly formed DOGE (Dept. of Gov't Efficiency) is going to go after their multi-million dollar contracts

Single party systems are never ideal. We had one 2021-2022. Now we've gone the other way two years ago. There's a reason. This could be exact same, just in different way.

The brutal outcomes for Germany simply continue. It's energy crisis has turned into a political crisis and also a business crisis. Too late to turn the economy around? Ford reduces working hours at German electric car manufacturing site

It's what my wife says .. now just need a corsair and really puffy shirt

Nice patch bro. More street cred

Car & Driver was not kind to the new Infinity QX80. Compares it to Olive Garden, a waterbed with Jell-O (and not in a good way) and stealing someone’s homework. And all for $120k+!! Maybe this is the end of “peak SUV?”

Speaking of waiting and watching … Delays cause me miss my connection to Roanoke. Rented a car and drove 4 hours. Hokies lose (again) Oh, and I’m rocking the pirate look due to eye issue. So much winning. “See” you soon.

OPEC cuts forecasts again ... Still sees demand growth .. just lower growth than previously expected. Hard to see the group meeting in person Dec 1st but oil journos are all watching (and waiting) #oil #OOTT

Awesome to be back in Blacksburg.

Yep.

Perhaps they should’ve held real primaries…

As I said earlier: they bounced him, now they’ll blame him. Books will be written.

Nancy Pelosi to the NYT:  “had the president [Biden] gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race.”   “The anticipation was that, if the president were to step aside, that there would be an open primary. “ “And as I say, Kamala may have, I think she…

Too much of a good thing. Let’s see how hard incoming admin hits Iran with sanctions. Otherwise we are likely going lower on supply / demand

We were one of the few media outlets covering Europes energy woes the last few years. Seemed obscure at the time I’m sure. But now as energy costs destroy Europe’s industrialization it’s clear it was a stock market story all along. Americas lower cost, always-on energy is…

However bad you think things are in the UK, it’s worse

Hard to overstate just how rapid the changes in US party coalitions have been. The Democrats are now the party of high education *and* high income voters. Just 12 years ago, the inverse was true. On these terms, the Trump coalition was closer to Obama 2008 than the Harris one!

120 year historical swing. People everywhere big mad about inflation, Covid response, wars and more. A former governor said me to recently, “as a politician you have to take the party in charges Ls (losses) and eat it” Vote was not just an American phenomenon.

And to clarify: this isn’t just the first time since WW2 that all incumbent parties in developed countries lost vote share. It’s the first time since this data was first recorded in 1905. Essentially the first time in the history of democracy (universal suffrage began in 1894).

I was tweeting back in fall of 2020 about how my friend - who is a principal at a working class NJ middle school - said they had 25-30% of kids log on to class on any given day. 70% truancy rate for months and nothing he could do about it. Once the kids came back in person he…

The long term fallout you refer to is real. Zoom-school? They'd have been better off playing hooky outside - but that wasn't allowed. Can't get those years back.

great call on NJ even though he didn't win it. Dramatic shift that no one else saw coming except you

Illinois and New Jersey were within 5% of going red. Bars open … while kids struggled at home with remote school and desperate parents trying to make it work may have been a ‘quiet issue’ under appreciated by pollsters. Still many families dealing with the long term…
