We continue to caution residents if you plan to recreate in the lakes of Mecklenburg County as pollution can be highly localized and variable. Please avoid swimming in water that looks discolored, as this may indicate stormwater pollution. Report any pollution concerns to 311.

Scoop dog poop to keep our waterways clear of harmful bacteria! Big or small, it doesn't matter, any waste left on the ground can be a source of bacteria for our streams - so make sure you #ScoopthePoop! Learn more: bit.ly/3TvxsQs

Whatever goes into storm drains ends up in waterways. Too many leaves/organic debris can make it harder for fish & other organisms to breathe, cause build up & clog waterways. Removing them helps keep our waterways clean. Clear drains or use 311/the CLT+ app to report blockages
