One of my favorite teaching tips to share: Test Talk. For the first 5 minutes of a testing session, students put their writing utensils on the ground, I hand out the tests, and students can collaborate. I hear some of the best mathematical conversations in these 5 minutes.
I’ve always said, @sdpaulette has the gift of capturing “magic!” Congrats on this well deserved honor!

The DNA of Hope. We are familiar w/the double helix model of DNA. Metaphorically speaking, Hope has a triple helix, which defines its "DNA". The 3 interlocking strands represent GOALS, PATHWAYS, & AGENCY. To be a high Hope person, all 3 must be present. #kidsathope #hopescience

Gosh this seems simple but wouldn’t our world be such a different place if viewed through this lens?!
My experiences influence my perspective. It doesn’t mean I’m right. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. Too many of us disregard someone else’s experience, because it doesn’t match ours. May we seek to listen in hopes to understand more.

2023 School Social Worker of the Year honroee Kimberly Israel, of @EUSD, advocated for school social workers within her district, started the internship program, and created community partnerships to increase access and support services for students and families!
Many children r blessed w/obvious gifts. They r gifted, academically, musically, athletically, & or socially. They're fun to coach, teach, instruct & mentor. Others r blessed w/ treasures - gifts that are "buried." These youth need Treasure Hunters. Be a treasure hunter!
