I think this type of this would be a fun way to get students to think about numbers out side of just memorizing equations. #dued357

20 dots in a circle. Fill the dots with numbers so that each dot differs from its clockwise neighbor either by +1 or -1. Do it. Find two dots with 1 dot between them of the same number? Ditto for two dots with 3, 5, 7, and 9 dots between them of the same number. What's going on?

Considering (false) conjectures to inspire a game of Counterexamples. (See link for instructions) Here's a fun one: it takes a minimum of 6 triangles glued together to make a hexagon. What's your counterexample? mathforlove.com/lesson/counter…

New TikTok video: I turned one of my most boring math lessons into one of my most engaging lessons using this one theme.

Whoever designed the math sections on the PSAT 8/9 needs a reality check in the classroom. Why are we giving a comprehensive algebra test to children who are only in their first weeks of learning algebra? That’s educational malpractice. We have got to do better for our kids.

Why not make a working, growing anchor chart for the school year? I snagged a page from @martinsean’s playbook, plus anchor charts from @LizzHarwell to get started! Yay for PLNs and PLCs! #mtbos #LearnwithIM #OpenUpMath
