To “love what you do” is very rare. Often what we do in life is very difficult. When possible, love or have passion for the “why”. Being passionate about why we do things can help make steep climbs and hard times more tolerable.
We are only as good as the promises we keep. Put value into your word and into each “handshake”. Once they are worthless, it’s a very long road to bring them back to have value.
Many times it is the struggle rather than the achievement that matters most.
One of the biggest wins in my life has been learning how to lose. Learning that loss is a frequent part of life and how to own, adapt, and overcome a loss of any kind has become an invaluable tool.
Trust your gut and always use your head. The right blend of instinct and logic will fuel growth and wisdom.
Be grateful for where you’ve been, excited for where you’re going, and appreciatively present for where you are.
Make sure the biggest bets you place in life are on yourself.
There is always more than one metric for success. Define what a win looks like to you and start from there.
